Song Lyric Sunday 🎶

Song Lyric Sunday

I’ve read about Song Lyric Sunday many times over at my friend and fellow blogger Lynn’s site (who BTW knocked it out of the park last week) https://inkedautist.wordpress.com/ and I always think of great songs that go with the theme. So, I finally decided to join the fun. The theme this week is artist/singer who shares your name. Well, Dang! I couldn’t think of any Angelas or Angies so I googled. There were a few, but I’d never heard of any of them. I was, however, surprised to see how many porn actresses are named Angela🙊 Well, Double Dang! So, my very first Song Lyric Sunday isn’t quite following the theme. Yes, I always have to be difficult.😝 The title of the song is my name. But, I guess I’m kinda following the theme because one of the band members shares my last name. I can’t say which one because I share some personal things about other people, especially King Ben, on my blog and I want to respect their anonymity.

So, here’s The Rolling Stones with Angie. Lyrics courtesy of Google.

Angie, Angie
When will those dark clouds all disappear
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here
With no lovin’ in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can’t say we’re satisfied
Angie, Angie
You can’t say we never tried
Angie, you’re beautiful
But ain’t it time we say goodbye
Angie, I still love you
Remember all those nights we cried
All the dreams were held so close
Seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here
Oh, Angie, don’t you wish
Oh your kisses still taste sweet
I hate that sadness in your eyes
But Angie
Angie
Ain’t it time we said goodbye
With no lovin’ in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can’t say we’re satisfied
Angie, I still love you baby
Everywhere I look I see your eyes
There ain’t a woman that comes close to you
Come on baby dry your eyes
Angie, Angie ain’t good to be alive
Angie, Angie, we can’t say we never tried
Songwriters: Keith Richards / Mick Jagger

  1. You picked a pretty tough week to join us, but I’m really happy you ended up finding something. We’re so happy to have you! I’ve never been a huge rolling stones fan, but I found this one easy to listen to. It was pretty great for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Thanks so much for playing along!
